Dr. T. Govindaraju is a professor at JNCASR, Bengaluru, India. His research interests are at the interface of chemistry, biology, and biomaterials science, include Alzheimer’s disease, peptide chemistry, molecular probes, diagnostic therapy (theranostics), molecular architectonics, and silk-inspired biomimetics and biomaterials.
He has founded a startup company (VNIR Biotechnologies Pvt. Ltd. http://vnir.life) and translated many of the inventions from his laboratory. He has discovered a novel drug candidate with immense potential to treat Alzheimer’s disease and is licensed to a biopharma for further development.
He has received numerous awards and honors for his science inventions and their translation. Prof. Govindaraju fervently pursues and champions the cause of scientific discovery, its translation, entrepreneurship, education, and outreach for the betterment of society.
Jawaharlal Nehru Centre For Advanced Scientific Research
Dr. Gupta leads Global Strategy for Society Program (GSSP) office at the American Chemical Society (ACS). Her office is responsible to grow ACS footprint by building partnerships and develop programs for global scientific community across AsiaPac (excluding China), Middle East, Africa, Latin America.
ACS works with and for constituents from schools, colleges, research institutions (academia, Industry) and Govts. And non-governmental organizations.
In her previous roles, she led development and implementation of ACS’s India strategy and operations, managing editor for ACS Omega. She has rich experience in building programs, products, teams and partnerships.
Currently she spends most her times in ideation, prototyping, and scaling programs and products or global communities. She serves on various national and international committees/platforms in STEM.
Rajesh is responsible for developing and managing ACS’ strategic objectives and activities to engage and develop the chemical sciences community across different regions – Asia Pacific, South Asia, Middle-East, Africa and Latin America regions.
Earlier, Rajesh was Head of Public Policy, Government Affairs and Engagement, India and South Asia at the UK-based Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC). He set up an RSC office in India and led its partnerships with chemical societies, academia and industry.
He was instrumental in setting up a multi-project iRISE to build culture of innovation in India; led Yusuf Hamied Inspirational Science Programme, which has trained over 40,000 teachers in India and initiated RSC’s Diversity and Inclusion programmes in India.
He is recipient of Rolls Royce-Chevening Research, Science and Innovation Leadership Fellowship in 2018 and completed a course in University of Oxford.
American Chemical Society
Dr. Chaturvedi is an Outreach Manager with the Global Strategy for Society Programs (GSSP), American Chemical Society.
In his role, he is responsible for engagement with the Scientific Community with the goal of growing and sustaining the ACS Community and to better understand how ACS can support the wider scientific enterprise. He is currently part of the team working on the Virtual Internship Capsule, a skill development initiative to enhance industry segment specific skill readiness among potential job seekers.
He has a PhD in Petroleum Engineering for which he was awarded the Best PhD Thesis Award in New Energy Studies by the Federation of Indian Petroleum Industry (FIPI). He has been a finalist of Shell Ideas360 in its inaugural run and have served as invited judge/mentor for Carbon Removal Challenge, HeroX, and other energy transition events.
